It does the work of an air conditioner, a heater and a hot water tank. Cheaper to put in than the three of them, and cheaper to run every year after.
In summer it makes hot water out of the heat an air conditioner would throw outside.

C$7,000 per apartment, installed. That is about C$1,500 less than buying an air conditioner, a heater and a hot water tank separately, and about C$342 a year less to run.
Room temperature, hot water and energy use, all in one app. Set it once and it holds, or change it from anywhere you happen to be.
It decides how to split power between heating, cooling and the battery, minute by minute. One thermostat is all it needs, so there are no extra sensors in the wall to fail.
The heat taken out of an apartment in summer goes into the hot water instead of out the back of the building. In winter the same hardware runs in reverse to heat the rooms.
